I’ll be updating the site in the next week or two to include information about the subscriptions but I wanted to give everyone the information on costs in a less formal way as soon as I could. So in this post I will be letting you know the costs for the site next year once subscriptions begin.
I will of course put this information on the main page once I have finished completing the current work on assignments, but as I know this is important to you all have decided to put it out this way for now.
I have tried to extend the free period as long as I can and I would love to be able to continue to offer the site for free, but after a year in development, with many holidays, weekends and evenings given to this project, as well as increasing personal costs, the time has finally come to start to introduce the small fee for use.
I hope that despite the introduction of a small cost to continue to access some of the sites main features, you will continue to support the development of the site through your subscription.
Launch Date Change
To make sure that the service is in the best possible place for launch I have decided to push the launch date back just a little bit.
Rather than launch in January and rush towards that date (never a good thing!) I have decided to push the launch date back to the beginning of the UK February half term (or at least the day most schools return – Mon 19th February).
This will make sure that there is plenty of time to set things up post Christmas.
This also means that you will all be able to continue to access the site for free up until then.
The Subscription Costs
First, let me reiterate that the site will remain free to access without an account and your students will be free to follow the courses as I update them and add more projects.
The site already contains over 200 ready made projects and I will continue to expand the project selection, with plans to add many more including projects for beginners, projects for A Level and a new course for Edexcel.
These courses and projects will self test and, if you do not wish to pay a fee for the student tracking and additional support features, there will plenty of problems to solve and courses for your students to follow!
The subscriptions will allow you to create accounts for your students, allow them to save and track their progress and also give access to the additional features like the grade book, assignment creation and teacher tracking etc.
In the table below you will find information about the initial costs for a 12 month subscription.
