Easter Update

Over the Easter weekend, the site may be intermittently unavailable while I roll out a major update. I’ll be working to keep disruption to a minimum, but there may be short periods where things go offline as new features are deployed and tested.

This update has been a long time in the making and brings a mix of brand-new functionality alongside a wide range of fixes and improvements.

What’s New (and Why the Delay)

Some of you may remember that I originally mentioned feedback threads would be available a couple of weeks ago. While the core feature was ready, I made the decision to delay its release slightly to ensure everything was fully secure, stable, and ready for real-world use.

As I continued working on other areas of the site, it became clear that it made more sense to bring everything together into one larger, more complete update rather than releasing features in isolation. This means that alongside feedback threads, you’ll also benefit from a variety of smaller fixes, improvements, and user-requested enhancements.

A Focus on Security and Scalability

One of the main reasons this update has taken longer than expected is the level of care needed around security and permissions.

With features like shared classes and assignments, managing access correctly is critical. Ensuring everything is secure, compliant (including GDPR considerations), and behaves exactly as intended has required additional development and testing time.

That said, this extra effort has not gone to waste. A major benefit of this work is that it lays the groundwork for future improvements—particularly around assignment and project management, as well as more advanced sharing capabilities.

What to Expect Next

Assuming everything goes to plan, the update will be deployed over the Easter weekend.

Next week, I’ll publish a full breakdown of everything included—fair warning, it’s going to be a long list! There’s a lot that’s been improved behind the scenes as well as several visible changes that should make the overall experience smoother and more powerful.

Once this update is fully in place, it will also put me in a strong position to continue building out new features based on your feedback.

Thanks for your patience while this has been in progress—it’s been a big piece of work, but I’m confident it will be worth it.
