Create your own assignments and a few other things

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a little quiet lately and not had much time to post any updates on here as I have been busy building in additional features.

I did however want to take a few minutes out to update you on a few things that I have been working on.

This last two weeks I have been working on making sure the create your own assignment feature is ready and fit for purpose. I am nearly there and hoping to get that in your hands shortly.

This has been a tricky update to get right, as the assignment system behind the scenes has undergone some significant changes over the time I have been developing the site and I have needed to ensure that all of these features work for you in a way that makes sense.

I will give some more information on how the new create assignment feature works at roughly the same time I release the update…which I am hopeful will be in the next week or so. It will be important for you to read the information about assignments and the way that it works in order to get the most out of it.

Some other features in development

Once the assignment feature has been complete with the first version released, I have a couple of other things coming down the line. However, if there is anything you’d like to see as important, if you get in touch I will have a look and see what I can do.

As for features here is a few of the things that are incoming:

  1. Ability to add additional teachers to a class
  2. Support for more libraries including matlab and numpy
  3. Finish addition of Time2Code projects and assignments
  4. More built in projects, especially more beginners projects and more A Level/complex projects as well as some Edexcel exam style projects.
  5. Updates for teachers to access built in project solutions and reworking of built in solutions to support block in the parsons problems.
  6. Some updates to the existing projects
  7. Ability to create your own projects
  8. Ability to set up/choose which keywords are excluded in the support framework
  9. More themes (minor change but I know the students like to choose!)
  10. More control and some updates to student accounts
  11. As usual – continuing bug fixes

I have a few other features that I have been working on as well that I am quite excited about. I also have a few more things in mind as I head towards a launch but these are the specific areas that I am currently concentrating on.

Let me know if you want me to prioritise something else, or there is something you want to see completed sooner.

As always, thanks for your support.
